Lucy ... The dog who spoke to us

Who says dogs can’t talk? When we looked into Lucy’s eyes we heard her loud and clear.

When inspector Lucas Moloi rescued Lucy from a drain in Umlazi, her eyes said everything: she was terrified of humans, past hope, and unable to believe that she was safe in our kennels.

And no wonder! Someone deliberately threw this skinny little pup down the drain, and left her to die of cold and hunger.

But, we know how to talk to dogs. With soothing words and gentle hands . . . and gifts of food and a cosy blanket to snuggle into. And, with time, Lucy is regaining her health and confidence. Now, the sparkle is back in her eyes and we’re looking for a special home for her, with loving, caring people who’ll never hurt her again.

Thanks for helping us save Lucy . . . and many other dogs and cats like her. Your support makes our work possible.

Lucy is up for adoption and waiting for her forever home ... if you would like to adopt her, please contact our Kennels Department on 031 579 6524/6.
