“We want to adopt the dog that's been here the longest

Talk about music to our ears! When an amazing family visited our SPCA on Mandela Day, this was their request. And we couldn’t have heard anything more welcome! Because for six months, we’d been trying so hard to find a home for Taylor, who arrived here as a stray in January.

Every time a visitor walked past her kennel, she’d rush to greet them, tail wagging furiously and wearing her best smile. But no one ever stopped. Time after time, it was another dog that was chosen and poor Taylor’s tail would droop dejectedly.

Metaphorically holding thumbs, we introduced the family to Taylor, and it was love at first sight. Next day, she went home with them and spent her first afternoon playing at the beach with her new family.

Don’t you just love happy endings – or rather, happy beginnings? Here’s to a long and happy life for this special dog!
