School Pet Food Drive

Hillary Primary School

Hillary Primary School arranged a collection of pet food and invited us to their morning assembly for an official hand-over and to address the students with our animal welfare presentation.

Hartley Road Primary School, Overport

Hartley Road Primary School in Overport adopted the month of August to raise funds for our SPCA. We addressed the students before the start of their fundraising initiative to encourage them to donate.

Jungle Cubs, Umhlanga

Jungle Cubs Pre-School in Umhlanga arranged a collection of pet food for our SPCA and invited us to address their little students on caring for their pets.

Clifton School, Morningside

We received our final visit for the year from students at Clifton School in Morningside. As part of their community outreach, they donated pet food and were eager to help out with whatever work they could do at our SPCA.

Kinship Programme

We received a visit from students involved in the Kinship Programme, they came through to read to the dogs and cats at our SPCA and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Danville Park Girls' High

Isabel Love, a student from Danville Park Girls' High was chosen to paint a mural on the SPCA holding kennels wall in Ballito. Isabel and her helpers completed the mural in time for Mandela Day, when the remaining walls were painted by volunteers. The mural came out beautifully and gives the kennels a fresh new look.

Durban Girls College, Essenwood

Durban Girls College participated in our Adopt a month Campaign which they anticipate every year. They collected an incredible amount of pet food, toys and blankets for our SPCA.

Varsity College, Durban North

Thank you to Varsity College in Durban North for allowing us to hold another successful Book Sale on campus.

Vega school in La Lucia invited us to host a Book Sale at their campus.

Atholton Primary School, Umhlanga

Atholton Primary School in Umhlanga adopted our SPCA for a month and collected an incredible amount of pet food for the animals in our care.

Clifton School, Morningside

We received another visit from students at Clifton School in Morningside. A new group from their outreach club came through to donate pet food and also help where needed, as part of their community service. The students assisted in making price tags.

Camelot College, Berea

Camelot College in Berea participated in our Adopt a Month campaign. We visited the school for an official hand over and had a chance to address the students about animal welfare and to say thank you for the donations.

Glenashley Prep, Durban North

The school's Adopt a Month collection came to an end, after running throughout the first term. We visited Glenashley Prep for the official handover. This school supports our campaign annually.

Gordon Rd Girls School, Morningside

We went through to the school for an official hand-over of their pet food donations, following their visit to our SPCA and the video they did of our team and facilities.

Reddam House, Umhlanga

Reddam House was the first school to sign up in 2023. They arrange an annual food drive and collected a huge pile of dry cat and dog food, sachets, and toys for animals at our SPCA. We greatly appreciate their efforts.

Glenashley Prep, Durban North

Learners will be collecting dog and cat food, blankets and toys for the entire First Term. Apart from involving the children, the school has also posted on Social media to remind people to join the drive. Thank you, Glenashley Prep!

Clifton School, Morningside

Grade 5 learners from the school's Community Outreach Club visited our SPCA recently to help with cleaning up the grounds. They also donated pet food, blankets and toys. Huge thanks to the learners.
