Pixie

Happy reunion

Pixie went missing from her home in Isipingo on 12 January. Her owner filed a missing dog report at our SPCA, but did not provide a picture.

So, 10 days later, when someone in Umlazi found a dog and brought her in, we weren’t sure it was the missing Pixie.

Until Janet from our kennels did a bit of sleuthing on Facebook. She found a Lost Dog post with a picture that looked a lot like our little stray! Janet contacted the dog’s owner and it was her dog. They were both overjoyed to see each other again.

Whilst we all love a happy ending, Pixie’s story highlights the importance of having pets microchipped. It’s quick, painless and affordable. And it can be done right here at our SPCA.
