When Compassion Doesn’t Sleep

On Friday, 16 August, 16 dedicated supporters braved the rain, mosquitos, and a sleepless night as they took part in our annual SPCA Sleepover in honour of International Homeless Animals Day.

The evening began with a warm welcome and delicious sponsored meals generously provided by Crazy Korean and The Oyster Box Hotel. As night fell, our guests settled in for an unforgettable experience — choosing discomfort for a night to stand in solidarity with the thousands of animals who face far harsher realities every day.

Thanks to their commitment and the incredible generosity of sponsors and donors, the event raised an outstanding R169 000. These funds will go directly towards caring for animals in need, giving them food, shelter, and a second chance at life.

We are deeply grateful to every participant, sponsor, and supporter who made this event possible. Together, you’ve shown that when compassion doesn’t sleep, hope awakens for countless homeless animals.
