2026 Kennel Sleepover – our biggest and best yet!

Our 5th Annual Kennel Sleepover, held in honour of International Homeless Animals Day on Saturday, 15 August, was incredibly successful – thanks to our brave fundraisers and their amazing supporters.

This year, 27 animal lovers swapped the comforts of home for a night in our kennels, helping to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the homeless animals in our care. Together, they raised an amazing R225 000!

But the event is about more than spending a night in a kennel to raise funds. It is an opportunity to experience, in a small way, the reality faced by the countless animals that arrive at the SPCA without a loving home to call their own. Every donation raised helps provide food, shelter, veterinary care and essential support for animals while they wait for their forever families.

A very special thank you goes to all 27 participants who took on the challenge, raised funds and gave up a night of comfort to stand in solidarity with homeless animals. We would also like to congratulate Gail Hudson Cuttler, who was the top individual fundraiser, raising a phenomenal R25,652!

Thank you to everyone who supported our participants with donations. Every contribution, large or small, helped bring us closer to our fundraising goal and will make a meaningful difference to the animals who depend on the SPCA.

The sleepover was made extra special thanks to the generous businesses and sponsors who helped spoil our guests. We are so grateful to La Lucia Mall, The Oyster BoxSaders Kitchen, Excess Factory Shop, Coffee Cats Cafè & Tea Garden, House of Gummies, Ooba Homeloans, Tashas Fudge, Fullham Bakery, Sweet Souls Bakery and Toys R Us.

Events like the Kennel Sleepover would not be possible without the generous support of our community. From the participants who slept in the kennels, to every person who sponsored a guest, donated towards the event, volunteered their time or provided food, prizes and treats – thank you.
