Adopt a month

‘Adopt a month’ schools’ pet food drive

As we celebrate 130 years of protecting and caring for animals, we are mindful of the fact that we don’t do this alone! We are grateful to every group, individual and company that supports us so generously.

This is a special shout-out to the young people – school girls and boys – who join our ‘Adopt a Month’ campaign to provide food for the animals in our care.

Many of our rescues arrive here hungry and frightened. A bowl of food means more than just a full tummy. It means hope, comfort, and the strength to heal.

What is ‘Adopt a Month’?

Learners at participating schools choose a month during which they are encouraged to bring pet food to school. They experience the satisfaction of helping animals, while learning valuable lessons about empathy, compassion and responsibility.

How does it work

Contact our Education Officer, Krystal, on 031 579 6533 or email operations@spcadbn.org.za and decide which month you want to collect pet food donations for our SPCA.

We’ll support you with posters and guidance, and our team will visit your school to say thank you and share interesting facts about animal welfare.
