PHOENIX SATELLITE BRANCH
163 Avonford Crescent
Our satellite clinic in Phoenix is a primary healthcare haven for pet owners in the community. It offers vaccinations, deworming, microchipping and owners’ requests for humane euthanasia at welfare rates.
Sterilisations and other procedures and operations involve transporting the pets from Phoenix to our animal hospital at Springfield Park, where qualified veterinarians and animal welfare assistants provide the required procedures and care.
Once fully recovered, pets are transported back to the Phoenix clinic for collection by their owners.
Welfare rates apply to pet owners who are underprivileged, unemployed or pensioned. Within a community where private veterinary care is beyond the reach of many, the Phoenix Clinic is an oasis of hope and health.
The clinic also sells cat and dog food and pet care products, such as flea remedies.

BALLITO POUND
10 LEONORA DRIVE
Our SPCA satellite operation in Ballito acts as the pound for the KwaDukuza Municipality in terms of the Pound Act No 3 of 2006.
Strays may be temporarily fed and housed at our holding kennels at the Ballito Fire Station, before being transported to Head Office in Springfield Park. Here they are given health checks, food, warmth and shelter before being claimed by their owners or, if suitable and healthy, are put up for adoption.
Well-known in the local community, Field Officer Nathi Ngisu is dedicated to the Dolphin Coast and surrounds. His days are filled with collections of strays, carrying out rescues and home-checks for adoptions.
Qualified Inspectors from Head Office in Springfield Park handle all reports of cruelty in the area and carry out thorough investigations which in some cases, result in written warnings and/or charges of animal cruelty in terms of the Animals Protection Act 71 of 1962.
Inspectors also carry out regular pro-active inspections of pet shops and other facilities housing animals.
