A Tail of Two Kitties

Meet the latest (and sweetest) additions to our Yard Cat family at the SPCA.

While Edward is a bit shy and gentle, his best friend Bacardi is the life of the party at Coffee Cats! Friendly, fearless Bacardi will jump onto your lap without waiting for an invitation, and demand a cuddle. If you have any catnip, so much the better.

Edward prefers to snuggle with his girlfriend Emily in one of the nice cosy boxes in our cat hotel. Since moving in, he has become a lot less timid, and now enjoys attention from quiet and gentle visitors.

Our Yard Cats cannot be rehomed, and live permanently at the SPCA. They have free run of the place and each has his or her favourite spot – from a quiet corner in the charity shop to one of the desks in the marketing department. Each cat also has a ‘sponsor’ who contributes monthly to cover the cost of food, parasite control, cosy blankets and toys. For more information on becoming a Yard Cat sponsor, please click here.
