Huge thanks to our four Team SPCA runners (Daniel Wiebesiek, Robin Powell, Sheila McCallum and Tracy Whittstock) who signed up for the FNB Run your City marathon prior to lockdown, to raise funds for our animals. The event had to be re-scheduled as a virtual run on Heritage Day, with participants choosing their own 10km route and starting time. Just over R20 000 was raised from donations and sponsorships – with every cent going towards the care of lost, abandoned and ill treated animals.

Our annual Trail run also had to go ‘virtual’, with participants able to complete their chosen distance (5, 10 or 15km) on any day from 7-20 September. Thank you to all who entered and shared your experience on social media.
