In response to numerous queries, we wish to re-assure the public that the services rendered by the SPCA to the local north coast community, more particularly the Dolphin Coast satellite branch, have not been terminated.

Certain operations have temporarily been suspended and absorbed at Springfield Park SPCA, but the branch is not closed. A process of cleaning, repairing, training and additions to the staffing is currently being undertaken.

Two members of staff were recently dismissed after due process was followed. It would not be appropriate to publicise the details of what is internal disciplinary procedure.

Full-time Field Officer Nathi Ngisu and another staff member are on site during the temporarily revised office hours of 09h00 – 14h00, Monday to Friday. Field Officer Ngisu is on call after hours for emergencies. As usual, the pound facilities at the Ballito Fire Station are still open for admissions after hours.

These temporary changes at the branch have no bearing on trading at the SPCA “Dog Box” Charity Shop in Boulevard Centre. We thank our loyal and hardworking volunteers who manage the shop, for their unfailing dedication and hard work. We thank our donors for supporting our SPCA and encourage your on-going patronage for the sake of the animals being assisted by the SPCA.

We thank members of the public for their understanding and support and ask that you please bear with us during this time. We assure the local community that we remain committed to the welfare and well-being of animals in the Dolphin Coast area.

Members of the public are welcome to engage with us in a positive manner and should not hesitate to address any specific concerns in writing so that our Management Committee can respond. Please email us at admin@spcadbn.org.za
