Midmar

Making a splash for animal welfare

Durban animal lovers took their support to a whole new level when they tackled the challenging aQuellé Midmar Mile to raise funds for our SPCA.

No fewer than eight teams made a splash on 9 February, raising a collective R56 360 for the animals in our care.

Top Team, the Wet & Woofy Warriors, led by our very own Mary Koen, raised R18 550. They received a trophy sponsored by local business, Laser-It.

Although Mary did not finish the race, she put in a valiant effort and we are very proud of her.

Tazmika Holby was the only member of the Danville Divers team, and she raised R7 210 all on her own! She received a special trophy for the top fundraiser.

Huge thanks to everyone who swam on the day, family and friends who came along to cheer them on, and all their generous sponsors. Your support helps provide for the furry rescues in our care, and gives them a second chance of a happy life.

See you all at next year’s Midmar Mile!
