This year, I’ve chosen to spend a night in a kennel for the Durban & Coast SPCA’s Kennel Sleepover. While one night in a kennel is definitely outside my comfort zone, it is nothing compared to what so many animals experience when they arrive at the SPCA frightened, abandoned, neglected, or simply waiting for someone to give them a second chance. By taking part, I hope to raise awareness and much-needed funds to help provide these animals with food, shelter, medical care, and, ultimately, the opportunity to find loving homes.

The SPCA has always been my favourite charity because the work they do for vulnerable animals is nothing short of incredible.

Twelve years ago, we adopted our Bailey from the SPCA. She is the best dog in the world! Bailey is my children’s best friend, and a beloved member of our family. Every animal deserves the same chance at love, safety, and a forever home.
