Words of love make Christmas special

Thank you for supporting our Tree of Love in shopping malls throughout Durban during the festive season – or for placing your message on the ‘virtual’ Tree of Love on our website.

When you work in animal welfare, it’s easy to feel sad and overwhelmed by the many horrific cases of animal cruelty and neglect witnessed on a daily basis. Reading the messages placed on our Tree of Love helps restore the balance, and our faith in humankind.

“In memory of Angel, who most certainly is in heaven.”

“To my Benjy and Sarah who have gone over the rainbow bridge and are missed every day, and to my 2 rescue dogs – Emma Lucy and Dougal – who fill our lives with so much fun and love.”

“Forget diamonds, dogs are a gal’s best friend! Thanks to my furry bff for the abundant joy you bring to my life.”

“I’m so sorry you have been abandoned or abused. We need to help people understand that animals are fellow creatures and we must protect them and love them as we love ourselves.”

“To the SPCA staff – please take extra special care of all your new arrivals this season.”
