This is an incredible story of three dejected dogs, abused, neglected and starved…and their transformation to the wonderful, healthy animals they are today. Papalu, Roxy and Flowergirl have overcome the odds and are looking for new homes. Even though they have been so mistreated by humans, they are the most loving, trusting, playful, happy dogs. They deserve nothing but love.

Months ago Inspectors Nkomo and Moloi investigated their case reported to our SPCA. They were chained up, did not have adequate shelter or water or food and had not received adequate veterinary treatment. They were all extremely underweight.

Procedure was followed, and after many written warnings, follow up investigations and attempts to educate their owner, it was clear nothing was being done. We could not allow this to continue.

The decision was made to remove the animals and lay charges in terms of the Animals Protection Act 71/1962.

Thankfully, our warrant application was successful and the dogs were removed from the premises.

Inspector Moloi has been in constant contact with the Investigating Officer from SAP and the docket has been sent to the SPP for a decision. We are confident that justice will be served in this matter and will continue to liaise with the relevant authorities until the case has been resolved.

Papalu, Roxy and Flowergirl have been with our SPCA for 4 months now. The accused has since decided to relinquish ownership of her dogs to us so that we can start finding them homes. They have had a rough start in life and it would be great to see them placed in a new home together if possible. However we know it is a lot to ask for someone to adopt three furbabies, so even if you think you are the right person to offer one or two of these dogs a home, please contact us.

These dogs truly deserve a second chance and someone who can show them that there are kind and loving people out there who will ensure that they are given a better life.

To discuss adoption please call 0315796525, or email kennels@spcadbn.org.za. Or better yet, come in a see us!
