Fantastic weather. Fantastic crowds. Fantastic support for animals in our care – thank you to everyone who participated in our Umgeni River Trail Run on Sunday 28 August.
With your help, we raised R57 000 towards the cost of rescuing, sheltering and feeding abandoned, stray and neglected animals. We also received many generous donations of pet food on the day. THANK YOU!
Dougal (aka Dale Johnson) single pawedly raised over R17 000, completing the 5km race in blistering heat with the help of a posse of minders. Grateful thanks to all who sponsored our dog man! Thanks also to those who sponsored prizes and helped out on the day – especially Alison Chadwick of Riverside Trail, Ward Events and Durban Green Corridor who keep this magnificent route along the Umgeni River in pristine condition.
Congratulations to our winners:

We have a Charity Shop full of unbeatable bargains, our Coffee Cats Cafe offers delicious refreshments, and we boast a nursery run by Ladybird Landscapes to benefit our SPCA.
There is so much to see and do, not to mention the programme closest to our hearts - our adoptions. Click here for pooches and kitties currently available for adoption. Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you back to our SPCA!
